Clean and Simple Sketch #196

After the last day of Scramp Camp, I found myself looking at a ton of scraps on my dining table. It was the Clean and Simple Stamping blog to the recue! Sketch #196 is a wonderful scrap user upper. I can see my self using this sketch often.

I decided to combine squares from three different papers which each had circle patterns on them and which had similar colors. I'm really loving circle patterns lately! I cut the Colonial White banner using my CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, inked up the edges of the banner, and then stamped a sentiment from the Card Chatter - Birthday stamp set.

The best part of this process was that I had enough time and paper to make some multiples. Maybe I'll finally have some cards on hand when I need them!

Pink Owl Card

Whenever I look at my daughter's comforter, I think of stamping! I love all of the adorable nature images on it so I thought I would try to make a card inspired by these images. I normally don't work with these colors so it was a good challenge for me...and it took me a good long while!

By the way, this is a 5" x 7" card. Most of the cards on my blog are standard size, 4.25" x 5.5" but I couldn't fit the tree on a smaller card!

Caboodle with Love You Forever

I love all of the owl and other bird stamps that are so popular now so I was eager to get the Love You Forever stamp from CTMH. My daughter used each and every stamp in the set on the day it arrived! Well, that was about a month ago and am only now getting to play with it myself.

I based this card on one by Sherrie Siemens in CardMaker magazine's March 2010 issue. I really love her card layout and I think I will try it again with more details as I made this one somewhat quickly. The flower was originally White Daisy and I colored it with a Crystal Blue marker.
