Hats Off To You Birthday Card

I felt inspired after the Card Buffet on Saturday and got right to work on some more designs for my November Card Buffet. I'm trying to use up some older paper so I designed something using the argyle pattern from the old Cruisin' paper. For some reason, I have a ton of this paper! I used the Hats Off (C1593) stamp set which is only available as a hostess reward. You can purchase it for $8 with any order -- combined or just your own -- of $150 or more. I always have a difficult time coming up with masculine themed cards so I was very happy to see this stamp set in the catalog (page 8).

I used my Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the tags and some hemp to tie the tags together. I also used my new Arrows Embossing Folder.

Since the front of the card had a few layers with the tags and all, it got a little "top heavy," so I added paper to the inside of the card as well. It's difficult to tell from the picture above but there is a gray sheet of cardstock under the argyle and brown.

This is just another view of the card.

This will be one of the many cards you can choose to make at my Card Buffet on November 15th!

Project Life CTMH Style Week 5

Here's week 5 of my Project Life CTMH style scrapbook.

I just wanted to highlight a couple of elements on this page. I took a screen shot of a weather app on my phone to show the big difference in temperature from one day to the next.

We had a number of "keys" to our hotel room because we had ruined the magnetic strip on a couple of them by placing our phones too close to them! I loved the fun colors on the key and thought it would be a good addition to the page so I made a little pocket and put the key in. It's a neat way to add some ephemera. You could also use a small Flip-Flap.

I didn't have an in focus picture of our hotel room but I really wanted to include one on the layout so I went to the hotel website and was able to find a picture of the exact type of room we stayed in.

A Little Birdie - Retro Sketches #17

It seems that I am gravitating to sketch challenges lately! I made some more time for creating (don't worry, I did do some laundry too finally!) and based my card on Retro Sketch #17.
I pulled out my CTMH June Stamp of the Month, which I love but hadn't used yet! This is what I came up with.
The outside doesn't really make sense by itself  so here's a pic of the inside.

Supplies used (All CTMH except where noted): (S1206) A Little Birdies stamp set, (Z2105) Black stamp pad, (X7154B) Cruisin' Level 2 paper pack, (Z1701) Baker's Twine Neutral Assortment, (Z578) Corner Rounder, Spellbinders Lattice Rectangles Nestabilities, Crayola and Loew-Cornell Colored Pencils
