Pretty Pinwheels
I'm on vacation so I thought I'd post a video about the Miracle Workshop on the Go. I have been using the Kraft Color-Ready Borders a lot lately (it is included in the Miracle Workshop on the Go and is also sold separately). The borders are self adhesive and using them has been a really quick way for me to add a little visual interest to my scrapbook layouts and cards. This video gives you a quick demo on how to make some pretty pinwheels. It's a nice embellishment which is 3-D but not too bulky.

Chairs To You!
Even though it's a bit early for me to be using it...I love May's Close to my Heart stamp of the month! Hmm, what does it say about me that the images of cozy and comfy chairs really resonates with me? When I took a look at the weekly color challenge over at http://cr84fncolorchallenge.blogspot.com/ and saw this cute card by Bianca Taylor, it inspired me to "inaugurate" my May SOTM (consultants have the chance to buy stamps of the month ahead of time).
The colors for this week are light pink, black, and cream:
Here's my card:
Supplies used: (D1456) Chairs to You - May Stamp of the Month, (X7134B) Sweetheart Level 2 paper pack, (Z2105) Black stamp pad, (Z2302) Baby Pink marker, (Z1034) Black Ribbon Rounds, (Z578) Corner Rounder, (Z1326) Red, Pink, and Purple Sparkles, (retired) Colonial White spiral clip, black gel pen
The little rosette is just Colonial White cardstock cut into a spiral shape and rolled up. I used tacky glue to make the rosette stay rolled up (but I'd bet Liquid glass would work also). I love that black ribbon with the stitch going through it and use it quite a bit. The Black Ribbon Rounds collection is on sale now through my website on the "While Supplies Last" page. I'm trying to BE GOOD and use up my old supplies before getting new ones but I may have to break down and get this one before it sells out.Pin It

Studio J Layout - Valentine's Party
For a long while, I just hadn't done much with scrapbooking. I did some mini albums and some random layouts here and there. I feel like I am finally getting back on track now. I never thought I would say this but using Studio J and digital scrapbooking has really helped me to get motivated on doing more scrapbooking, both digital and paper layouts. I am actually done with my 2010 family album (for me, this is big news)! Just having it completed has inspired me to keep creating and now I have started working on my 2009 family album. While my 2010 album is full of all digital layouts, I'm thinking my 2009 album will be a mix since I already do have a few layouts completed, so I just printed out a bunch of 2009 pictures to get started.
I've also become motivated to continue working on the kids' elementary school albums -- my daughter's will probably be all digital and my son's will be a mix since he's older and I don't have all of his pictures through a digital camera (can you believe it?).
Here's one digital layout of my daughter's kindergarten Valentine's Party. I used the "trick" of creating a text box to cover over a rounded element which I didn't want. I also made journaling strips with skinny text boxes and added ribbon tabs to the front edges of those journaling strips.
